Monday 3rd to Sunday 9th October is widely recognised as World Dyslexia Awareness Week which is when people are encouraged to reflect on barriers that those living with dyslexia can face and how we can support them and be more aware of this to bring about a positive change.
Dyslexia is a common learning disorder which affects abilities to read quickly and write without errors. 20% of the population are affected by this and it makes up 80% of all those with learning difficulties.
Being more aware of those around you who may have dyslexia is a step in the right direction to make others feel less alone. Support is vital and can make a huge difference to those living with this learning difficulty.
