Interviews can often feel daunting but ultimately you need to remember they're an opportunity to show why you are better than the other candidates, and what you have to offer the company you're interviewing for.

Here's some tips we've together to help:

Research the Company: Understanding the company's mission, values, products, and culture is crucial. This not only helps you tailor your responses but also shows the interviewer your genuine interest in the role.

Prepare Your Stories: Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your responses. Have a few examples ready that highlight your achievements, problem-solving skills, and teamwork experiences.

Know the Job Description: Analyse the job posting and match your skills and experiences with the key responsibilities and qualifications. Be ready to discuss how your background makes you the ideal candidate for the role.

Practice Common Questions: Rehearse answers to common interview questions like "Tell me about yourself," "Why do you want to work here?" and "What are your strengths and weaknesses?" Practicing with a friend or in front of a mirror can boost your confidence.

Leverage Online Tools: Platforms like LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and the company’s website can provide valuable insights into the interview process and company culture. Use these resources to prepare thoughtful questions for your interviewer.

Listen and Engage: Active listening is key during an interview. Pay attention to the questions, ask for clarification if needed, and engage with the interviewer to build rapport.

Prepare some great questions: Remember you're interviewing the company too. Ask them the important questions. "What are the key priorities you would want me to achieve in the first 6 months?", "What do you enjoy most about working here?"

Follow Up: After the interview, send a personalised thank-you email to express your appreciation and reiterate your interest in the position. This leaves a positive impression and keeps you top of mind.
