A DNA Scientist is required for an award-winning Biotechnology CDMO based in London. The company is a specialist in enzymatic DNA production, and they partner with global Biotechs and top 10 Pharmaceutical companies, to produce synthetic DNA for use as both a starting material and an active pharmaceutical ingredient.
The DNA Scientist will be joining their Molecular Biology team, and their main responsibility will be to amplify custom DNA constructs in E.coli and purify them using various resin based purification columns. A big focus will be on optimising parameters and developing new processes to generate high quality material at various scales.

The skillset / experience required to be the successful DNA Scientist:
At least MSc qualification in molecular biology (or similar discipline) with several years of experience in handling bacterial cultures and working on DNA purification techniques.
A strong understanding of the requirements to optimise bacterial growth for both yield and purity.
Strong experience with DNA purification techniques at varying scales, using kits and/ or self-packed hardware is highly desired.
Experience in aseptic technique and controlled environments with prevention of cross-contamination.
Experience working within a Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) or Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) environment is highly advantageous but not essential.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
